In January 2024, the Faculty Board of the Maastricht Law Faculty gave the final approval to our proposal for the establishment of The Maastricht Centre for Law & Jurisprudence, embedded in The Department of Foundations of Law. The Maastricht Centre for Law & Jurisprudence (MCLJ) promotes excellence in research in the areas of legal philosophy, legal theory, (international) legal history, and the intersection of these fields by holding colloquia, workshops, conferences, and other academic exchanges with a view to serving the scholarly community and society at large. The research directors are Monica Garcia-Salmones, Lukasz Dziedzic, and Roland Pierik.
In January 2025, the Centre will officially be launched with an inaugural conference, more information on the Centre and the inaugural conference can be found here.
